About Agit Özbay
Agit Özbay clears up misconceptions about SEO and GEO for German mid-sized companies, the Mittelstand, using measured data instead of claims. GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization: whether ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Mode name a company when someone asks for a provider. At InSpace he is Senior Account Executive for Germany.
He starts a conversation with data rather than slides. Before the first meeting he studies a company’s domain, then puts on the table where the market is searching and which questions the website leaves unanswered. Before joining InSpace, he ran his own agency for twelve years and then built a B2B business serving major accounts. So he knows both sides of the table: the provider who has to deliver and the owner who pays the invoice himself.
Every Friday, in his Wochen-Check on LinkedIn, he takes what was claimed about AI visibility that week and holds it against the documentation of Google, OpenAI and other providers. The three misconceptions he meets most often in the Mittelstand: that visibility is a project with an end date, that a line in robots.txt removes a company from AI answers, although OpenAI itself writes that blocked pages can still appear as links, and that a figure from a study automatically applies to one’s own industry.
Outside the office he makes films, usually more elaborate than the occasion requires.
